Solaris, the story of a motif
Each collection at Maison Fauve is distinguished by its own universe, a dedicated aesthetic, a new story that I enjoy telling. The color palette and prints are major elements of this narration. They will be found on the fabrics but also the envelopes of the patterns.
I thought of the Fauve Romance collection as a road trip, a beautiful escape from an urban and hyperactive daily life towards the sweetness and lightness of vacations.
Summer at Maison Fauve is colorful, bright, and I wanted the colors to be those of the sky that my heroine scans with her eyes at the wheel of her convertible: the blue halos of early mornings at the water's edge, the liveliness of the colors of a field of flowers that we see like a trail when we drive along it at high speed, the soft pastels of the end of the afternoon when the sky becomes vanilla-colored like in an impressionist painting, the orange-red then the fire of twilight when night falls.
I wanted dresses in the color of the times, a silhouette that could be recognized at a glance, an inspiring palette whose tones could follow everyone's desires, while maintaining an overall unity.
An exclusive print
I searched a lot for the pattern that would embody all of this. I love abstract art for its work on color, shape, light. It is an extension of Fauvism, moving away from reality. And "gradient art" is a technique that goes even further, it emphasizes the transitions from one color to another, from one tone to another. But it was not easy to transcribe this into a pattern. I was lucky enough to meet a textile designer who offered me a pattern as beautiful as a painting, with its nuances, its blur and halo effects. And she did a fabulous job on the color variations, according to the Fauve Romance palette.

How to sew viscose poplin
I recommend that you use microtex needles to sew viscose poplin, to avoid pulling threads and weakening your viscose fabric. To give your work some hold, use an iron-on like Vlieseline G710 for collars, button plackets and cuffs. And to add just a little definition to your neckline, use Vlieseline G785 for the edges.
Wash your viscose garments in a laundry net, at 30° max on a delicate cycle.

A beautiful printed dress for summer
The Cuba Libre dress in Solaris Ultra Orange
I declined the Cuba Libre dress in Solaris Ultra Orange poplin, for an ultra-vitaminized version of this beautiful summer dress. And I chose the Solaris Confetti poplin for a long dress that plays the trompe l'oeil in a revisited floral fabric. This beautiful dress has butterfly sleeves, and a paneled skirt: the silhouette lengthens and twirls nicely.
The Cuba Libre dress in Solaris Confetti
For the Solaris Bleu Halo print, I chose the very summery Paola dress, with its thin straps, its stunning back and its cut full of movement thanks to its panel construction. A sundress that fully lets this worked print express itself.
The Paola dress in Solaris Blue Halo
Pairing the Transat dress with the Solaris print was a no-brainer. The Transat dress has a beautiful V-neckline at the front and back, with pleats on the shoulders, it ties at the waist and the front is embellished with a slit: a very easy model to sew and which will instantly make the temperature rise in this fabric.

An irresistible little top
The Daïquiri blouse in Solaris Pastel
The softness of the Solaris Pastel goes beautifully with the Daïquiri blouse, its light colors do not hide the cutting work characteristic of the sewing pattern. It is a mermaid blouse, which will be superb worn over small plain shorts.
The top Paola in Solaris Ultra Orange
The Paola top is a real gem, a small hand-sewn camisole that takes on a whole new dimension in the spectacular Solaris Ultra Orange print. Perfect with jeans, it will add spice to all your outfits.
The Spritz Tank Top Duo in Solaris Confetti
And why not a Spritz tank top? Play with this duo of tops, one plain and one printed, to bring out the touches of color of the Solaris Confetti print. Slip a cotton voile underneath, fresh and light, perfect for the strong summer heat.
Soft pastel, intense warm colors, hypnotic blue, what will be your favorite Solaris for the summer?!
