Forever Leaf

Hello! A summer without a Leaf dress is like a summer without sun ;) And I didn't hold back from sewing a new version, for once, in double gauze. The special feature of this wrap dress pattern....the wrap is on the back! homemade sewing pattern fawn leaf dress The bust is fitted, the back crossing allows it to be worn with a bra. The dress can be sewn knee length or mid-calf length, it is the latter that I chose for my new Leaf. I find that this length is less casual, more elegant and I wanted a more dressed version. I chose the gauze fabric that needs no introduction from Atelier Brunette, with its pretty embroidered gold polka dots and its fawn color (hihihi). I had bought this coupon several months ago, and it was either to sew Leaf, or to sew a new version of the Highland skirt pattern. But I had seen several versions of this pattern in this famous fabric on Instagram...I couldn't resist :) I have to admit, at Atelier Brunette they are strong, and this fabric definitely lives up to its reputation. I'm really not into double gauze for my sewing, but I'm really delighted with the result. I'll give you the link to the fabric here , it's the "chesnut" color. It's finer than the other gauzes I've seen, and the little embroidered details are really very elegant. The drape is perfect for this pattern, the pleat details on the skirt are well marked, the cuffs of the sleeves hold up perfectly. I think that's what's cool about Leaf's pattern: viscose, cotton, double gauze, everything suits her! And the pattern is available in envelope format here , but also in pdf here . The cut of the model is quite refined, we can allow ourselves a lot of audacity in the choice of fabric, and I had made a "Leaf dress" assessment in my wardrobe, they are all printed! Well this fabric is not completely plain, but I'm getting close ;) I don't need to introduce you to this beautiful fresco, located at the Lez market in Montpellier. The pink of the wall, the terracotta of the dress, the Andalusian hat...warmth! Kisses to all, I'm still enjoying my vacation a little, but it's to come back fully to prepare for the start of the school year!
