Swallow...shirt or dress why choose?!
Hi! Glad to be back at work for Maison Fauve and head down to finalize the new collection. There will be some great people, with a piece that is making its debut in the Maison Fauve wardrobe... a coat!!! And Embrun will soon be joined by new pants, which will be a perfect playmate to the Criollo jacket for working girls 2.0. But shhh I'll stop there, I promise as soon as the collection is finished and photographed I will reveal more information ;) So to wait a little news in my wardrobe for this summer: in the family of sewing patterns, I would like the chic and shocking little sister, the Swallow shirt ;) But I wanted a new dress... no matter, I lengthened the pattern of my shirt by 30 cm, and tadammmm here is a shirt dress. I kept the rounded bottom of the shirt, because I imagined myself in an open dress version over a swimsuit, neither completely undressed nor completely city attire. Well, I admit I didn't wear it to the beach, but with beautiful sandals and a belt (we are far from the cliché of the Italian woman on the Riviera that I had in mind ;) ). The Swallow shirt pattern revisits this classic of the feminine wardrobe, with a looser cut. The shoulder line is low, the back is nicely gathered, and the detail that makes the difference is this little broken collar (which matches the Sparrow men's shirt). I sewed here the 3/4 sleeve version with sleeve cuff (hello lazybones of the day!). And it's a marvel from Eglantine et Zoé (link to the fabric here ), a perfect fabric for a blouse. It's a fine cotton/viscose, striped with blue and lurex (yess ... I present it to you with the collar closed and the collar open (but with my eyes closed :) ). To make the collar hold up well, I interfacing with a slightly thick iron-on adhesive, the result is perfect. I took a small thin belt, but with a scarf or a real belt I think it must be great. I wear with my pretty Sentiments bijoux earrings, and my new hobby (as a good little sheep who sheeps) a maxi pearl barrette (I have several...madness!). The session is still from my shooting at the Marché du Lez, in front of a Supakitch fresco. Have a nice day everyone!
