a bubble gum Rocaille, and without a collar!
Hello! While waiting for the release of the new collection (Avrillllll!!!!) I wanted to offer you today a variation of my (your?!) favorite of this winter, the pretty Rocaille blouse . This little blouse has the advantage of offering different finishes of bottom flaps (all these elements being interchangeable, you can have fun :) ). But having read that high collars do not please everyone (fear of being cramped, apprehension of sewing a collar in particular), I wanted to show you another way to approach the beautiful Rocaille: without a collar! To do this, I reworked the facings so that your neckline finish is perfect, and I suggest you close the opening with a small strap. I really like the result, and this new version with its soft tones calls for spring. This pretty fabric comes from Coupons de Saint Pierre , it is a seersucker with soft pink stripes enhanced with lurex (something that shines!) at a very reasonable price (20 euros for 3 m, I am really thinking about ordering all the colors because it is so beautiful!). For the finishes, I kept the lower back flaps, the shoulder tabs, and I chose to play with the stripes by taking the lower short flap of the shoulders, with the stripe oriented differently from the bust. What can I say except that I am in love with my new blouse. To allow you this little transformation, here is the step by step of the modification ;) The facing: You will take the outline of your facing front and back, start with the back, by creating a facing that will be 4 cm long along the shoulder and 5 cm in the middle (at the fold). Then take the front facing and extend it to the shoulder, also 4 cm here. Trace the initial facing on your bust and redraw it, then trace your new facing. Assemble your facings right side to right side at the shoulders. Overlock the seams, and overlock the entire outside of your facing. The pretty strap: take a strip about 10 cm long by 5 cm wide, and pre-fold in the middle right side against right side. Sandwich a cord, and sew first in the width direction, then down along the cord. Trim the excess fabric, push the end of the cord a little towards the inside with a small pair of scissors, then pull the cord, tadammmm a pretty spaghetti (it's the same technique for the straps ;) ). Cut a portion about 4 cm long which you will fold over to form the strap. Place the facing right side against right side on the neckline, insert your strap (be careful when positioning it to take into account the seam allowance between the facing and the neckline). Sew, and follow the outline of the center front slit . Trim your corners, notch your rounded neckline, turn inside out and there you have it! All that's left is to choose the pretty button. I hope you'll like this new version too, maybe lighter in anticipation of the sunny days! See you soon!
