The wildest of palettes, discover our plain fabrics!
Watch out, the solids are out!
I have always been keen to offer you full, bold colours. You may not know it, but if I named my brand Maison Fauve, it was not originally to pay homage to the majestic felines, but in reference to an artistic movement born at the beginning of the 20th century: Fauvism . This pictorial movement is characterized by a simplification of forms in favor of colour. Terribly modern and controversial, the Fauve artists used pure colours in a radical, contrasting way, out of step with reality.

The Maison Fauve palette
So it was only natural that the fabric collections I was going to create for Maison Fauve would have to reflect this. I love colour, patterns, and block colours are a great playground for creating silhouettes. It's not necessarily about turning into a bird of paradise (although I can sometimes be a fan of explosive mix and match!), but simply about waking up an outfit with a burst of colour.
Green as a lucky charm
We have 2 shades of green in our collection: the very summery Very Green , infused with a hint of yellow, and the Beetle Green , muted and magnificent in depth.

An ocean-colored dress
Moods can be as changeable as the sky and the sea, so I chose 2 shades of blue to follow my desires: a Lagoon Blue like the southern seas, and a Cobalt Blue , pure and sharp, like a nod to the works of Yves Klein.

Let's talk fabric
To use this palette on fabric, I chose viscose twill : it has a magnificent movement, drapes nicely, irons very well (which is ideal for the patterns I like to create, based on pleats, darts and other fancy details hihihi), and I selected a fabric with a sufficient weight (200g/m2) in order to have a nice opacity and to be able to be sewn as well for blouses and tops as for dresses, shorts or pants.
Plain fabrics allow you to highlight the construction details of a sewing pattern, to better "read" a garment. They can be the star of your outfit, but can also be combined with prints, as a reminder of an element of the pattern. And to accompany your hand-sewn creations, we have developeda range of buttons that match our fabrics.
The upcoming Spring Summer collection from Maison Fauve will be arriving very soon, with new colors that will enrich this palette. And since I am a person full of contradictions, it is possible that pastels will make an appearance... Alongside a new strong color of course ;)
