A couture full of sensations
With its textured materials and its powdery, sunny tones ... The À Fleur De Peau capsule collection invites you to (re)discover your favorite patterns through a selection of fabrics that gently enhance the lines of the models. The colors are infused with light and its reflections, the fabrics have the softness of rose petals, the weave of the fabrics is visible, and the solids take on a whole new dimension.
The Couture Palette on Skin
In order to be able to combine our new fabrics with the prints of the collection , I worked on a harmony of colors inspired by nature and which embodies a certain idea of elegance, while being very singular: almond green, chlorophyll, khaki, navy blue, moss green, powder yellow, rosewood, amber honey, tawny brown... The tones are nuanced, more organic.
Each new color echoes the Abstract Rose printed poplins:
-
Navy Blue and White with Abstract Blue Rose
-
Moss Green and Lemonade with Abstract Yellow Rose
-
Amazon Green and Khaki with Abstract Dark Violet Rose
-
Rosewood and Almond Green with Abstract Magenta Rose

Textured and precious plain colors
Tencel, linen and cotton dupion
For spring/summer, a brand new fabric joins our Fabric Library . Dupion is a fabric characterized by thicker, irregular weft threads, with small streaks and natural roughness, which give the fabric relief and character.
The hand is splendid, it has just the right amount of hold for sewing jackets and soft trousers, but will also be perfect for a dress, blouse or blouse.
I might as well tell you right away, I'm crazy about it! Absolutely all the clothes we've sewn in this fabric look incredible, and it's very versatile: a light summer suit with Mimosa and Grand Bain , a beautiful dress with a clean cut with Hespéride , a pretty top with Belle Épine , soft pants with the Soupir pajamas, there are so many lovely sewing projects to consider in this fabric!
And its composition is perfect: 64% tencel 23% linen 13% cotton , breathable and more ecological materials.
Available in:
Tencel satin
You loved Reflet satin fabrics this winter. For summer, we've developed a new material: lighter and less shiny, it's a dream fabric for a flowing shirt or dress.
Its surface finish is velvety, its touch incredibly silky, and its shine is very subtle (like pearls). This fabric is 100% tencel , a breathable, eco-responsible material that is very comfortable to wear.
Available in:
-
Amazon Green , for a Rosalie dress that doesn't lack style
-
Bois De Rose , for a Storm blouse with perfect drape
-
Lemonade , for a summery and timeless Skyline shirt
-
Almond Green , for a delicate and light Bellini blouse like a breath
Mini Chevron Camel Cotton Jacquard
I wanted to introduce into our collection a fabric inspired by the herringbone wools used in gentleman farmer jackets. A slightly "country chic" inspiration, but adapted to the summer season. We worked with our Lyon weaver to develop this beautiful 100% cotton jacquard: supple, very pleasant to wear (it doesn't itch at all), its camel color is perfect for summer and the mini herringbone effect allows for a slightly "heathered" look to the wool jackets.
You can sew a magnificent blazer jacket like Manhattan or Mimosa , but also soft pants like the Soupir pants , shorts, structured dresses, skirts... A new timeless piece that I am very proud to invite to our Fabric Library !

The signature patterns
Leo printed viscose poplin
Our signature pattern returns for summer. The eyespots have been enlarged for a more impactful effect, and are adorned with bold colors for quilting full of character. The viscose poplin is incredibly soft and comfortable to wear. Although the fabric is lightweight, you won't need to line your garments. Available in 4 shades:
-
Khaki , for an adorable Violet blouse
-
Rouge Passion , for a little Salto top that gets noticed
-
Rouge Tango , for a totally Fauve Hespéride blouse
-
Black , for an elegant Rosalie dress
Daphne Floral Lace
I make no secret of my passion for lace. When I discovered this sublime floral pattern, I knew I had found the lace fabric that would embody the À L'Ombre Des Roses collection. Daphné has the same characteristics as our other laces: easy to sew because it doesn't stretch, it doesn't lose its shape. Made mostly from cotton fibers, it doesn't itch at all. The flowers feature thoughtfully designed openwork that reveals more than it exposes the skin. We didn't line the tops sewn in this fabric; however, a lining should be considered for dresses and skirts. For the Malibu collar and placket, we used the matching Lemonade tencel satin; this fabric will also be a very pretty alternative to cotton voile for lining your garments.
Available in:
-
Lemonade , for a Malibu polo shirt that revisits the sport-chic look
-
Green Moss , for a sleeveless Storm blouse , a summer must-have
-
White for a cute blouse or a little summer top
Assorted haberdashery
As always, we have selected the haberdashery suited to each fabric :
-
Coordinated sewing threads
-
Wink Mat satin or Wink Glossy pearl buttons for your dresses, blouses, and shirts. New Egide and Tortoiseshell buttons for your jackets and blazers. Couture buttons matching Maison Fauve fabrics .
-
Iron-on adhesives suitable for fluid materials
Sewing ideas for the capsule
Looking for inspiration? Here are some perfect patterns to sew with À Fleur De Peau fabrics:
-
The perfect summer suit – the beautiful Mimosa blazer and Grand Bain shorts sewn in our Navy Blue dupion are combined with the Skyline shirt in Lemonade tencel satin for a very cruise look, the suppleness of the fabrics playing down the rigor of each piece.
-
70s elegance – the Manhattan suit jacket in Camel Mini Chevron shines alongside the Bellini blouse in Almond Green tencel satin. Ronsard jeans complete this very "Lauren Hutton by the sea" outfit.
-
Fatal and a touch retro – the Rosalie dress (and its devastating femininity) is reinvented in a Leo print for a look reminiscent of the polka dot dresses of elegant women.
-
Nuanced color block – The draped collar of the Tempête blouse is splendidly highlighted in Bois De Rose tencel satin, and the Soupir pajama pants surprise with their revisitation as elegant summer pants in Khaki dupion. The combination of the two garments offers a subtle color block, the harmony of colors is less radical but the contrast is very present.
These different fabric/pattern combinations allow you to appreciate the versatility of styles and uses of the new items in the À Fleur De Peau capsule collection. Our women's summer sewing patterns
FAQ – Skin-Deep Capsule
How do I know if the new fabrics will be suitable for my future projects?
In this article, we describe the specific characteristics of each fabric, as well as the recommended Maison Fauve patterns for sewing them. We also provide the fabric weight on each product sheet to help you assess whether it's compatible with your pattern. A short video available directly on the product sheet and on our YouTube channel will give you a glimpse of the fabric in motion.
You also have the option of ordering fabric samples to see the feel and "hand" of our fabrics.
There are quite a few plains in this capsule, how can you tell the right side from the wrong side of these fabrics?
Start by observing your coupon: the selvedges (edges of the width) have small holes that are due to the manufacturing process. Observe and touch these holes, on the reverse side they will be slightly marked and rather smooth and on the right side they will be more marked, as if raised and rough. This advice will be particularly relevant for dupion and tencel satin. Furthermore, these two fabrics are more matte and have an effect in the weave that is particularly noticeable on the reverse side, while the right side is more satiny or shiny. I tend to prefer the shiny side on the right side of the garment.
For Daphne lace, the place has small embroidered threads which highlight the floral “motifs” of the lace.
In any case, you can choose the side you want for all these fabrics; this will have no impact on your sewing.
Do new fabrics tend to wrinkle?
The composition and weight of the fabrics will give you information on this subject.
Tencel satin is lightweight, and being 100% tencel, it will indeed tend to wrinkle, for example if you tie your shirt, or if you belt your dress. Dupion is also free of synthetic fibers, it is composed of tencel, linen and cotton. It has a higher weight, and will be less likely to wrinkle, however it may show some creases with use.
The Mini Chevron cotton jacquard has a soft weave and creases very little.
Viscose poplins are lightweight, very supple, and will also have a slight tendency to wrinkle (like tencel satin), but the presence of the print makes this less noticeable.
Generally speaking, the only way to prevent a fabric from wrinkling is to add polyester to its composition. We have chosen to prioritize the absence of synthetic materials in these new fabrics, which makes them more pleasant and breathable for summer.
I know about silk dupion, but it's not always a pleasant fabric and quite "stiff", what about Maison Fauve dupion?
Our fabric is made of tencel (over 60%), linen, and cotton, making it very comfortable to sew and wear. It feels very comfortable against the skin, with a slight velvety feel. Its composition gives it suppleness and a nice drape, making it ideal for clothing with a bit of a drape, such as a blazer, shorts, a pretty dress, or loose pants.
If I want to sew a jacket in dupion fabric, do I have to iron on all my pieces?
This won't be necessary, as the fabric isn't too "soft." The Mimosa blazer featured in Navy Blue dupion fabric isn't fully interfaced, which gives it the flexibility expected for a jacket made of this type of fabric. Iron-on pieces should only be used as recommended in the brochure and on your pattern pieces.
I would love to sew a jacket in the new Mini Chevron jacquard. Does it need lining? What linings are suitable?
It is a 100% cotton fabric, it feels nice on the skin and will not require a lining if you do not want to line your jacket.
For the choice of lining, I recommend our 100% cupro lining fabrics, more pleasant and breathable than a polyester lining.
When choosing the lining color, it's primarily a matter of taste, but here are the colors I recommend for a perfect match with the camel color of the fabric:
- Pastel green, cloud and coral if you want a "soft" contrasting effect, these pastel tones will be very pretty
- Olive green, toffee and mocha are closer to jacquard tones and will also be very elegant.
Overall, trust yourself and follow your desires. As long as you choose lightweight, slippery fabrics, there's no "bad choice" possible; sewing gives you that freedom!
Will I easily find haberdashery and buttons suitable for these new fabrics with such special colors?
We've got it all covered! Each fabric has a matching sewing thread, and we're offering new zippers to match the fabric color as closely as possible.
Our button range has expanded: you'll find buttons in colors that match your favorite fabrics. We have our buttons made in France, and for each new color in the Maison Fauve catalog, we provide the manufacturer with the Pantone code. We promise no mistakes :)
I hope you enjoy discovering our new products, for a future hand-sewn wardrobe as soft as a hug, clothes that you will adopt as a matter of course!
