A free beginner sewing project to spice up your summer? Mia has more surprises in store!

You thought we had covered the beautiful Mia ? You didn't know us at Maison Fauve! We like to offer you patterns with several options, this is the case for the majority of Maison Fauve sewing patterns as soon as they are released.

Mia in its original version is offered with 2 collar variations: a large trompe l'oeil scarf collar and an officer collar. But we have to admit, long sleeves and a high collar are not really in fashion in view of the scorching temperatures. And I found it a shame not to be able to take advantage of its pretty drape, its comfortable volume and of course its secret weapon so desirable: the magnificent back neckline. The preparation of the summer edition of L'Oeil Fauve magazine was therefore timely: a beautiful summer Mia is the couture project of this new issue.

The surprise sewing project of the summer

For this summer version of Mia, the idea was also to decline the model into a beginner sewing pattern : no more collar assembly, no sleeves and a beginner sewing YouTube video to accompany you... Mia becomes accessible to all sewing levels!

But there is no question of reducing the finishing of the garment or letting you figure it out with this hack ;)

We provide you with free complementary pattern pieces for an easy sewing moment, with the key to a little blouse or dress perfect for summer: front and back shapes with slightly more scooped armholes, a link to close the back delicately without touching the perfect curve of the necklines, you automatically obtain the file of these pieces in PDF pattern as well as a step-by-step photo by downloading L'Oeil Fauve . For this tutorial I used a pretty polka dot viscose from Pretty Mercerie (the same quality but in a different color than the Kika playsuit ). I sewed a blouse, a small neckline version and still bra compatible: I paid particular attention to it by digging a little into the armhole on the shoulders.
