Sparrow Duo... Crazy Love!
Hello hello,
Love is in the air, and I'm not going to tell you otherwise!
You may not know it, but the Maison Fauve sewing pattern collection includes a model for men, a little gem with very distinctive details: the SPARROW shirt . This model belongs to the SEW ME TENDER collection , and I created it especially for my husband (my muse, in other words!).
And I didn't do things by halves: concealed buttoning under a flap (with the possibility of contrasting the pieces for a trompe l'oeil tie effect), broken collar, pretty cuff with capuchin flap, back cutouts to emphasize the line without excessively cinching and the model is entirely assembled in English seam.... Beautiful work with neat finishes (and no need for an overlocker!).
This duo photoshoot was also an opportunity for my husband to play the model for our friends at Sentiments bijoux who have just released a capsule for men. These are small, very fine cord bracelets, and a silver bangle for the doting daddies ;)
And I wanted to try a little experiment: shooting a tutorial + new great fabric + an embroidery challenge coming very (very) soon + I also wanted a new shirt = I sewed a Sparrow shirt for myself!
So... It's a men's model, for a height much larger than mine (1m80 VS my little 1m65) so of course I'm rather comfortable in it hahaha. I sewed it in size S, the sleeves are a bit too long, and the shoulders are not perfect, but I'm delighted with my pretty shirt!
The Atelier Brunette fabric is from the new collection, it is the Petal Maple color . This is the second coupon of this pretty cotton gauze that I sew and my love at first sight is confirmed: easy to sew, ultra comfortable to wear, and soft tones, in short I am a fan!
In addition, Sparrow has its feminine counterpart, the Swallow blouse , which also has the pretty details of the collar and the button placket, for a great duo ;)
