Kitty Niki, and I twirl on velvet paws!
Hello! Back on the blog, without a bob hihhihi but with a new version of your favorite from the Maison Fauve fall-winter collection: the Niki dress . I hadn't shown you this version yet even though it was the crash test version of the pattern. And since I don't deny myself anything, I sewed this crash test prototype in this absolutely stunning viscose from Make my lemonade (link to the fabric HERE ). I bought it this summer during a trip to Paris during which I obviously couldn't resist visiting the magnificent boutique, and I fell for some wonderful coupons, including this black cat print that I had a crush on when it was presented on the brand's ready-to-wear pieces.
Pretty Niki, you're starting to know her a little... trapeze dress version, blouse version, or even like here in skater dress version. It's this variation of the dress pattern that I worked on before the others, and what's cool is that depending on how it's tied, the result is different: -tied towards the back, the bust is more marked and the blouse in the back

-tied towards the front, the blouse is worn on the front (for a more "casual" look) and the back is more supported

And if you want, you can completely remove the links, for a little casual peplum dress look.
The skater dress version is really very successful with fluid fabrics, and this viscose gives it all the movement it deserves (if you are on Instagram, I posted videos in permanent story to see the movement of the model according to how it is tied, and believe me it is a dress that turns!!! I put the link to the profile of Maison Fauve HERE ). And what makes the little twist of this pattern, are the pretty sleeves with a pleat along the arm.
You know me, I'm not one to do things by halves... And it's a big coupon that I bought at Make my lemonade, I had enough fabric left to treat myself, a beautiful lining for my Ray coat ! So yes, tartan, big cats, it's a daring association. But, ohhh, when you wear a dress that matches its lining, you're still touching on what makes sewing your clothes sooo ...

Taking advantage of this beautiful winter sun to finally show you this outfit was really great, because believe it or not it's the first time I've worn these 2 pieces together! Tell me, do you also have these little seamstress pleasures of matching your pieces in a slightly unexpected way?!
