Crossing the winter in freestyle swimming

Some sewing patterns have a versatility that allows them to follow you throughout the seasons depending on your choice of fabric (but you probably already know that 😉). The rendering varies depending on the choice of material, but it is also the "style" of the garment that will be transformed.

The perfect little jacket for summer and winter

The Nage Libre jacket is the perfect example of this evolving reading of the pattern: presented in this summer's La Piscine collection , I had focused on the bathrobe/negligee style look with versions sewn in flowing fabrics, like a light kimono, a summer jacket.

The pattern is available in both long and short versions , and was also sewn in a coat style in jacquard fabrics . And it was clearly this second option that hit the mark, many of you voted for this more boxy look, in fabrics with hold!

A jacket in the colors of the new collection

Nage Libre is indeed a perfect pattern for sewing beautiful jacquards, its construction allows to emphasize the fabric because it does not have too many pieces that could visually "split" a pattern. And its raglan sleeves and its cutout in the back bring a dynamic to the silhouette, it is also a perfect playground for piping addicts.

For winter, I wanted to sew this pretty pattern in one of our new fabrics, the Botanica Encre jacquard .

The fabric is perfect for the model: it is very lightly quilted but not too thick so easy to sew, the pretty flowers enhanced with lurex bring elegance to the jacket, and the duo with our silver piping works perfectly.

Nage Libre is a sewing pattern that does not present any particular difficulty : no button placket or zip, the assembly of the sleeves as well as that of the lining is done flat, it is a project suitable for seamstresses who would like to sew a first lined jacket.

Shades of Ink Tones

I wear my jacket with Tremplin pants sewn in Encre cotton satin (so beautiful for winter!) and I wear under my jacket my Blush camisole sewn in LĂ©o Encre viscose jacquard . Keeping the same color and using it on several materials brings coherence to the whole, this outfit thus emphasizing this pretty color between navy blue and black.

Pairing my chic little jacket with my cargo pants and buckled boots really matches the look I like (and it's also very comfortable to wear on a daily basis haha). The Blush camisole isn't the warmest option, I grant you, but a nice turtleneck sweater will slip on without any problem under the Nage Libre jacket.

Will you fall for this pattern/fabric combination?

C’est ravissant, j’adore ces associations de tissus chics mais avec une certaine fantaisie. Je viens de vous dĂ©couvrir et j’adore ce que vous faites! Je sens que nous allons faire une belle route ensemble.
