SEW ME ARTY, the new collection by Maison Fauve!

Hello! It is always with this crazy mixture of impatience and fear that I finally reveal the new Maison Fauve collection : SEW ME ARTY. Working on the universe of the collections is one of my favorite moments. For me, clothing brings something more than just getting dressed, and it is the search for this look that inspires me. I don't travel as much as before, and especially for less time since I had my children. I find myself exploring capitals or big cities more than going on adventures. So I like to wander the streets of cities, the pretty neighborhoods with exotic architecture, and my guilty pleasure is to discover the contemporary art or design museums of the countries I visit. I don't always understand the artist's point, I don't necessarily master the context of the time, but modern art, contemporary art and design give off an energy that touches me, challenges me, shakes me up. The colors, the deconstruction, the themes covered are all little pebbles that have influenced me over the course of my discoveries. The evolution of Dessine moi un patron towards Maison Fauve is not unrelated to this culture that was created "late". And that is what nourished me when developing the patterns for the new collection: very constructed lines, details that catch the eye and surprise. After the fierce rider eager for wide open spaces in the SEW ME PAMPA collection, it is a more urban look that I sought for this winter with the desire for clothes that fit easily into everyday life, without being too basic or casual because that is not the style of clothing that defines me. And it is a complete wardrobe that I am offering you, with for the first time at Maison Fauve an essential piece: a coat. For the SEW ME ARTY collection, I was inspired by the Art Deco universe. Whether on the lines of the models, on the new pattern that decorates the pattern pockets, this unique aesthetic is omnipresent in the collection. Clean lines with work on details of folds, curves, cuts. Something graphically strong, but that we can make our own. The collection includes 3 patterns, which will for the moment only be offered in pocket format (with an exclusive and emblematic decoration of the collection). The LOULOU pants , a marvel of pants that will adapt to all your desires. Depending on the fabric chosen, you will have extremely sophisticated pants (like here in the sublime jacquard from Eglantine et Zoé), or more casual if you sew them in gabardine. And the detail that makes the difference: the cut of the pockets. Loulou, I thought about it a lot. I wanted to add a new pair of pants to the Maison Fauve wardrobe for a while. And I know that this is a piece that seamstresses are very apprehensive about, so I wanted a pattern that was really beautiful and worked, but without being too difficult. And above all, I chose a cut that would remain timeless. I like to wear my pants a little short and reveal the ankles: I am short and I find that more flattering. But the length of Loulou allows you to wear it lower, or even add a turn-up. As beautiful with heels as flats, the look of Loulou was inspired by the artist Louise Brooks who embodied the flapper movement. Niki is the first piece that I worked on for this collection. I wanted a simple piece with a very strong detail on the shoulder. The first prototypes were really very shouldered, with a hyper accentuated volume. It was beautiful, it was fun, but really too much ;) And then it was necessary to be able to wear the garment under a coat, otherwise it would not have been coherent for a winter piece! So I reworked this volume, less strong on the shoulder, more in the rounding than in the structure. I also wanted the pattern to be able to be sewn as well in a slightly stiff fabric like a jacquard as in a fluid fabric. And I found this play of folds, which flatters all fabrics. Foent, I could not be satisfied with a top ... so I worked a little more and here is Niki the beauty! You will have the opportunity to sew a blouse, a trapeze dress or a belted dress with a slightly pleated bust and a skater skirt. And the choice of fabrics is endless depending on the version chosen! This model, so feminine with its dancer neckline and its sleeves rounded by pleat work, transports you into the world of Niki de Saint Phalle and her generous and undulating girls. A softer line, very feminine, but which I hope will be easy to appropriate. dress niki boss maion fauve collection sew me arty niki dress pattern maison fauve collection sew me arty top niki patron maison fauve collection sew me arty niki maison fauve top pattern sew me arty collection dress top niki pattern maison fauve collection sew me arty the RAY coat , the "beautiful piece" of the collection. Now, I prefer to tell you that I worked hard... a first Maison Fauve coat, I didn't want to make a mistake! The coat is the piece that we keep for years, and when we sew it, we hope that it won't go out of fashion any time soon! A beautiful piece that is timeless... well, the task was tough ;) But I think I managed to find the compromise, the balance between what makes the pattern unique and the look that won't be the crush of a season. Ray's line sums up the essence of this collection: purity of lines, attention to detail. I think you'll have understood, my hobby for this winter is the work on the sleeve... And who is stronger to embody this piece than the designer Ray EAMES. The work of Ray and Charles EAMES has spanned the decades and yet retains a modernity that makes each of their pieces desirable. The Ray coat will be super comfortable, with its straight cut (but not loose), the shoulders are in place to flatter all body types, the lowered buttoning (I find this more modern, but the crossover of course allows you to add a button higher up), and the strap and the pleat work on the wrist is the detail that changes without being extravagant. ray coat pattern maison fauve sew me arty collection ray coat sewing pattern maison fauve sew me arty collection For this collection, I had the chance to take pictures with my friends from Louise's boutique , in Paris in the Saint Germain des Prés district (all the jewelry and accessories from the shoot are in their new collection!). I would like to thank the brasserie Les 2 Magots, and the restaurant La démocratie, for allowing us to shoot in their beautiful places. Thanks also to Thomas, the great photographer of this collection. The fabrics of the models come from Eglantine et Zoé (the beautiful jacquards of LOULOU and NIKI, the floral viscose of NIKI knotted), Les coupons de Saint Pierre (the pretty caramel floral viscose crepe from NIKI), The Sweet mercerie (the textured viscose from LOULOU and the tencel jean from the NIKI blouse) and Pretty mercerie (the woolens from RAY, the LOULOU plaid pants and the peacock jacquard from NIKI). I was helped to launch this collection by Julie and Rémi, my new acolytes at Maison Fauve. Thanks to both of them for their fresh perspective on my small business, and for their advice and work (special shoutout to Julie who put together the beautiful lookbook for the collection). 3-2-1...SEW ME ARTY here we go! I can't wait to see how you'll make the models your own! ray coat sewing pattern maison fauve sew me arty collection
