When spring comes to Zénith!

Good morning!

I know that my presence here is becoming rarer at the moment, and I have fewer new sewing projects to show you... Well, in truth I have some wonderful ones but you will have to wait a little longer before revealing them to you ;)

And if the new collection keeps us busy, I couldn't resist sewing a real gem that I could show you: a new version of the Zenith blouse in a fabric as beautiful as a poem! We are lucky to be present at new retailers, and in particular the Juni Design boutique in Germany (Tagggg!) and when Nina and Diana offered to give me a nice coupon, I fell for this marvel that is designed by their own brand: a magnificent silk/viscose called MAVA with a print that is reminiscent of impressionist paintings.

The Juni Design website is in German but you can easily translate the site with your browser's translator (here's a screenshot).

When I received the coupon, I hesitated a lot about the pattern I was going to use. The fabric is sublime but also light and a little slippery, and if at first I wanted to start with a dress, I finally thought that a blouse would be more appropriate.

The particularity of Zenith lies in its beautiful sunray pleats, and the very busy print was certainly going to hide them a little. But the cut, the beautiful sleeves with gathered shoulders and especially the fact that the model is quick to sew convinced me despite everything (and in the middle of preparing a shooting for the new co' the quick sewn aspect was not negligible!).

The longest part was to pin and sew the pleats on a slightly leaky fabric, but then roll my chick! ( find here the video tutorial of the Zenith blouse to see how to sew the pretty pleats of the neckline).

This blouse is presented in its elbow-length sleeve version, but the Zenith pattern is available in 3 sleeve lengths, and as a dress and a blouse... A complete wardrobe in the same pattern, bliss, right?!

And to warm up this little blouse a little, I chose a velvet version in hazelnut tones of the Sunset jacket. I think this duo works wonderfully, the red of the jacket is a perfect echo of the greens and pastels of the blouse.

I've been obsessed with corduroy for several months now, and after my ecru Hussard pants and my blue Criollo jacket , this coupon was the last one in my Metermeter order.... I'm going to have to refill my cupboard (bazaar?) with coupons! Pretty Mercerie has some superb ones (I'll put the link here ) and I saw a magnificent lilac one at Ma Petite mercerie ... Will I or will I not succumb to purple for 2021 after swearing that I would NEVER wear this color (little sheep is caught up in his own game hihihi).

See you soon, and this time it will be to tell you more about what the summer has in store for you at Maison Fauve!
