Let's talk about you: discover the results of the June 2023 survey

Last June, we launched a survey for you to give your opinion on Maison Fauve content and possible improvements .

There were an extremely large number of you who responded: almost 9,000 participants . In order to be completely transparent with you, here are the main elements that emerged from this analysis.

For information, the management of the survey has been entrusted to a third party so that it can analyze the results in a neutral manner.

What the survey says about you!

You are...

100% women and for a large majority, you are between 35 and 49 years old (46%). Some of you are over 50 years old (34%) and finally, you are 1 in 5 under 35 years old (20%).

You have known us for some time now : 70% of you have discovered Maison Fauve for at least a year.

In terms of levels, most of you consider yourselves to be intermediate seamstresses (63%) or even experienced (27%) . We have realized that beginners are in the minority : they are younger and are less familiar or have been familiar with pattern brands for less time, particularly Maison Fauve.

Why you hesitate to get started

Lack of time is the first reason why some of you do not dare to start, even if others are also afraid of being disappointed and wait until they are more experienced.

It didn't surprise us to find that most of them had learned to sew on their own (75%). That's why at Maison Fauve, in addition to the patterns, we work to provide you with free content to accompany you.

Maison Fauve's free content is here to offer you a global, accessible sewing experience adapted to your needs.

In this study, we wanted to analyze 3 types of free content : video tutorials , sewing secrets and the custom sewing guide .

The study found that these contents are useful :

• 98% of those who watched at least one video tutorial found it useful for sewing their garment

• 97% of those who consulted at least one sewing secret, were helped on the technical point

• 74% of those who have already consulted the little guide to custom sewing consider that it helped them

On the other hand, we must work to make them better known . In fact, almost half of customers have never viewed a Maison Fauve video tutorial, mainly because you did not know about it. And for the other two contents, even fewer of you view them: 16% for sewing secrets and 15% for the little guide to custom sewing.

We also realized that beginner seamstresses want to receive more educational content : specific pages, questionnaires, glossaries, lists of tools or even organizational advice.

Support in the choice of all parameters is an important key to consolidating our relationship with you. We are therefore reflecting on these different subjects and here are our first ideas exclusively.

What we have in store for you in the coming months!

We will continue everything we have already undertaken to make your sewing moments easier: free video tutorials accessible to all for all our models, free hacks to enjoy your patterns even more, our guide to custom sewing that we have recently enriched with new sections to support you in your adjustments, podcast episodes to better discover our collections. And we will gradually implement new features:

• A segmentation of patterns according to the level of difficulty : we will create and offer you on our site a questionnaire to determine your level

• Creation of more content with easier access thanks to a specific section for those who are starting to sew (and all those who don't mind a helping hand), with basic advice, a list of tools, recommendations and feedback

• Indication of cross-references in video and written content so you don't feel left to your own devices when starting a new pattern

• Support for beginners through newsletters, tutorials, podcasts

We are committed to making sewing more accessible, more joyful, and we hope that at Maison Fauve you will find the tools and keys to sewing that you will enjoy creating, wearing and loving for a long time.

Methodological note: The sample was interviewed by self-administered questionnaire online via Google Forms, and distributed on social networks and via an email from Maison Fauve. The interviews were conducted from June 6 to 7, 2023 .
